Computer Tanning – Just In Time for Spring
What would you say if you could get a tan from your computer? You would probably think that was a pretty crazy idea, but for a large group of people in the UK – they were all over it.
A skin cancer charity in the UK, Skcin, was hoping to raise awareness for their cause and set up a hoax website that promised users could get a tan from the heat rays from their PC. Little did they know that 30,000 people would fall for it.
These 30,000 people were then greeted with some pretty graphic visuals about the damaging effects of skin cancer.
