• The first Mardi Gras parade was held on Febraury 24, 1857

• Mardi Gras has only been canceled twice; during WWI and WWII but not during Prohibition

• King Cakes are still a tradition of Mardi Gras – if you find the baby in your cake and it’s good luck!
